WORK!

Wow. Today was a really good work day. I'm on spring break right now, so I didn't have to do any work on anything school-wise, so I decided to work on my game a bit (with the phrase "a bit" being used pretty loosely).

Yesterday, I redid the perspective of the game from a side view to a top-down view, and I also started working on redesigning the levels to fit that perspective. I didn't get too far with it, though.

Today, I
  • finished redesigning the house layout on the tutorial and first level (this isn't too exciting though, because these are the smallest levels)
  • placed enemies in the tutorial and first level
  • put in the objects you need to collect for the tutorial and first level
  • programmed the enemies to face the direction they're travelling in (hopefully I'll be able to change this to facing the player eventually)
  • programmed the player to be able to face diagonally in addition to the cardinal directions
  • and programmed a little secret into the game
It doesn't look like a lot when I type it out, but I'm still really happy with everything I got done. It was really refreshing to finally get some work done without homework to get in my way. I can't wait to get some more stuff done tomorrow. Er, actually later today, it seems.
